Jan 28 2004, 09:45 AM
darn... wizard's staffs not in this shipment...
neither is herugrim... UC hasn't even released designs for them..
anyway.. read from somewhere tat the delay for legola's fighting knives resulted due to a shortage in the type of wood used for it and UC's subsequent reluctance to compromise on using lesser quality wood...
Elven Archer
Jan 28 2004, 09:48 AM
that's good. at least you can be sure the stuff you get is of the highest quality. we'll probably see Herugrim in May or June.

jus a tip for anyone who owns a sword with either an antique finish like glamdring, strider sword or acid ash finish like the ring wraith, witch king....
NEVER use a silver polishing cloth or worse, silver polish paste on the coated parts... as they will corrode darn easily...

I bought my pirated STING in China for around S$25. Looks good from far but quality sucks when you actually go close and see it. Blade and Hilt are loosely joined and the metal used for the blade is lousy.
But I bought it for fun as the UC one is out of my budget.
Trying to see whether there are more pirated LOTR swords in China now.

anyways, sad news when i called my shop...they said the limited Anduril WILL NOT be arriving for most of us, as UC made a hiccup on the orders..they allowed more orders then they could supply.....
this is so infuriating......................they offering the unlimited anduril for a special price ($300 odd)..should i get?
anyway, whats the difference between the UL and limited one besides the plague?

the runes on the pommel are not inscribed in gold on the unlimited version unlike the limited one which is...
300 for the unlimited one is still a darn good bargain... considering tat the unlimited anduril is retailing for 505 for members at caesar's.... however, guess getting the unlimited one doesnt compare to owning the limited one.......

Hey EA,
What's the number on yours? If it's like #0888 or #1234, you might make a killing too.
Guoyi,
Don't fret. Go get the UL Anduril, it's a much better deal. It seems the LE Andurils have some quality issues.
BTW, someone from another forum followed up on the transaction. It's legit and the winner lives in Washington DC.

yup... i sure will get the unlimited one
but wats wrong with the quality of the LE one?
anyway... for those like me who can onli get the unlimited anduril, in terms of authenticity, apparently from the sales talk of the staff at caesar's, the UL ones are more faithful to the movie prop... thanks to the absence of the gold highlights on the runes on the pommel...
Dr Evil
Feb 3 2004, 02:15 PM
some plaques cannot mount anduril because the holes for attaching hooks have been drilled too close together.
some hooks supplied are also too short.
if you examine anduril's blade, you will notice that the runes are not properly aligned. there is a difference from side to side and sword to sword. sometimes the misalignment is very obvious. for eg, the sunbeams don't match up with the sun at all.
anyway, if you can really get the ul for $300+, it's a good deal but if it's also $500, then lugi big time.

icic.. thanks for the info...

no such luck for me. the number of my LE Anduril is 2812. I gave my sword a thorough check and everything seems to be ok. the alignment of the Elvish inscription is good. can't feedback on the plaque as I've not mounted it on the wall.

anyone here got a strider's scabbard and strider's sword??
heard tat the scabbard doesnt fit the sword too well... cos its way too tight...
am comtemplating whether or not i shld sink in 330 jus for one wooden scabbard...
Dr Evil
Feb 6 2004, 01:06 AM
if you have space on the wall, why not just hang the sword? personally, i see no point in having a scabbard unless you want to cosplay.
save the $330 for legolas's knives maybe? *slurpz*
i was just wondering how many le andurils there actually are in SG. 50? 100? can anyone comment? giant?

WitchKing's flail!!!!

Elven Archer
Feb 6 2004, 12:21 PM
if they really made one, don't think it would cost $330. more like $500. the flai is freakin' enormous in the movie. remember the mini-crater it made it in the ground?
Dr Evil

I don't mind a slightly scaled down version.

Read somewhere else that a flail like that is not easy to make.

I have always been confused by this mace - flail thingie.
I thought a mace is a metal club, spiked or flanged at one end like this:
http://www.weaponmasters.com/index.html?ID...&FDX=11&FMAX=10while a flail is a ball and chain device like this:
http://www.weaponmasters.com/index.html?ID...&FDX=11&FMAX=10but this is called a mace too (???)
http://www.weaponmasters.com/index.html?ID...P&FDX=1&FMAX=10To confuse matters more, I have seen both weapons being refered to as morning stars.
so which is which?
