tat would be a looong wait...
i'll prob not be expanding my collection too rapidly... after i get my UL anduril, GTW staff and herugrim...
had a heart-to-heart chat with sheare's boss.. he convinced me to only get wat i reali like and not for the sake of completing the collection... cos end of day... the replica swords' value will not escalate veri much (for most items, not toking abt the limited ones)... he told me of many encounters with collectors dumping their replica swords after some years of feverish collecting... with often the result tat they sell at tremendous losses...

oho.. and hope my present collection will stay rust free... hope to eventually pass them all to my children and grand children.... kinda cool if i can do tat... hahaha..

no info from caesar's yet.. bernard said they haven't yet received the price quote and sword specs...

well, it all depends on your reason for buying them in the 1st place. if you are wanting to buy because you want to collect, cos crazy about the movie/swords etc... then buy all loh, if you have the means. dont have to buy all at 1 shot also, i mean they aren't LEs.
whereas if you are buying and then keeping it, hoping at a much later time, it can be sold for a profit.... well... it's unlikely like what you have said, cos they arent LEs so why should they fetch a higher price if they are not out of production? i would still see them making over the next few years i think, LOTR fever's still pretty much active.

ea, could you also enquire for me about the anduril scabbard if you can rememeber? thanks.
btw loggers, if you have seen the pics and read the reviews carefully, you will notice that the sting isn't like a toy. infact the blade looks just like UC's and yet it has the ability to glow, that's what makes it amazing! with the exception of those small switches, but if you didnt look very close up, it's not so bad... only bad thing is the holder/plaque of course.

as a law enforcer, as much as i would like to to have authentically sharp blades, do be reminded that its a seizable offence (arrestable) to have dangerous or scheduled weapons (eg. Nan chuks, crow bars) in possession....

yeah. laws to protect you guys against me. one day I lose it, go berserk and slice and dice you guys with my Legolas Fighting Knives, which is able to slice the privates off a gnat.
but Narsil is unlike the Elven swords. it doesn't have a sharp edge. it is a false-edged sword and is only pointed at the tip.

the Shards of Narsil are mounted on the plaque and cannot be removed unless you want to forcibly remove them which no person in their right mind would do since it's worth about US$450 now or about SG$760.

just to update u guyz,
caesar's now has the price quotations for the yet to be released blades...
herugrim is $459 (m'bers $390)
boromir's sword is also $459 (m'bers $390)
anduril scabbard is $315 (m'bers $268)
sauron's helm in the region of $1400
sauron's gauntlet with One ring just over $1000
( I wasn't paying particular to the Sauron collection, as obviously they are well beyond my meagre means..

, moreover, they are supp to be highly limited and caesar's has yet to confirm whether they will be bringing them in)

the helmet of sauron is made of some fibre glassy material right....? not some metal...like the upcoming infantry elven helmets..??
gauntlets with the ring?? wow..should be a good buy! got any pics?

the legolas' blades are less sharp in comparison with the elven knife...

but retailers dont have to have them blunt which means it's ok what. somemore the lotr swords are collectables, no one in the right state of mind would spend so much to buy that just to harm ppl? they could just buy a cheap kitchen knife. anyway the swords are all made of rather soft metal, hitting it hard against a hard surface would dent it already.

i hadn't asked them abt preorders but from past experience, they shld start taking preorders once they have the price quotes...
hmmm... anyway... u wouldnt need a blade that can cut hard surfaces to penetrate the soft tissues of the human body...
oh... btw...since we are on this topic... found it rather interesting... do u guyz know how hard it is to cut off someone elses head? was told by my bio teacher in sec sch, that the ease with which ppl decapitate others in movies are all fallacies... the neck region of the human body is heavily bundled with tough arteries and cartilage besides the bony spine, making decapitation all the more complicated and difficult.. swinging a sword with the intention of swiping off ones head takes a great great deal of effort and energy....

hm... i'll wait and see how much sheares is selling the anduril scabbard first then decide. they should be selling it cheaper as per usual. can save money there by not buying from caesars.
well it's true lah, the tip is sharp so it still can be used to stab ppl. but it's like if someone really wanted to harm another, would they prefer to hold a small knife or carry the long sword around.
i guess that's why some of the recent decapitation videos show them sort of sawing the neck than just chopping it off in one swing. but i think it could well be possible with a sharp samurai blade wouldnt it?
Elven Archer
Jun 13 2004, 10:08 AM
is it me or has Caesars reduced the price of its swords? swords like Herugrim would have cost $420 for members, now its $390.
