Juz a few questions, bros.

do i have to polish the sword 1st before putting the silicon grease? will it be very oily to put in the box? how much and where to get the silicon grease? does casears or sheares sell it?

[QUOTE]

Eh, if the blade is in good condition, wipe it as clean as possible then slap on the grease. Not much experience with corroded blades...

Then again, I jus do wat I usually do when my knives need
re-conditioning, send it back to Sheares! They will service it up than you can pick it up when they have it ready. And its free! biggrin.gif
BUT, their policy is that this is only available for blades purchased from them.

Im starting to sound like a bloody salesman.... but I get my grease from Sheares! Jus ask them for it and chances are one of them will start joking that you can use it as jam. Which is true cos it says on the bloody can 'food grade'...

Silicon grease does not evaporate or dry over time. Its thick and slick (pardon the rhyme) and should not give you too much trouble if you stick the coated blade in the plastic sleeve.

No idea if the Salad bar sells grease.... they might have salad dressing... wink1.gif (sorry, I cant help it.)

Had a very bad experience with a shop (not going to name) selling swords mad.gif ... going to vent some anger now! i went to the shop around 7pm today after work and intended to purchase the silicon grease as posted earlier and some polish. At the same time, i also intended to get some tips on the frequency of polishing swords.

I went into the shop and a staff approached me. The coversation as follows.

Me: "i wish to enquire about the maintaince for my lotr swords."
Staff: "did u buy the swords from us?"

Me(frankly): "actually i bought the sword from someone else and i am not sure if he bought it from ur shop."
Staff: "If u never buy the sword from us, then i cannot help u!"

I was shock at his reply as i expected a better service from wat u guys commented earlier. Thinking that i better buy the silicon grease and polish, i asked him. sad.gif

Me: "Wat do u recommand for me to use to polish my swords?"
Staff: "Juz used a dry cloth."

i did not expect such an answer as any tom, d**k or harry also know have to use a dry cloth but i wanted to know wat polish to use with the dry cloth! The next thing really made me angry.... mad.gif

The staff walked pass me after his "dry cloth" answer. He then opened, hold onto the main door and started staring at me. It only meant one thing he was chasing me out from his shop. In anger, i went out the shop thru the door and the staff juz walked behind me and started smoking outside. He then commented if i wanna buy swords then come back another time. ohmy.gif

It really spolit my day, thinking that i would be able to start polishing my swords today. I am not complaining about the shop but juz felt that the staff could help me better.

In the end, this incident made up my mind not to patronize the shop for any other swords at all! sad.gif (juz my own comment!) to me, they only care about customers who are there to buy swords. mad.gif

nah, it wouldn't take more than 5-6 months. at the very most 2 months. if it takes 5-6 months to be delivered to you, I'll refund you the cost of the item and give it to you free-of-charge. that's how confident I am that it won't take that long. wink.gif

sorry bleahhh but the scabbard comes as a set with UL Anduril.

received your PM Wander_fool and sent you a reply.

I did some research and there seems to be a stumbling block. if I were to import and deal with swords, I would have to apply for a license. the application would probably take a few weeks to process but I would also have to pay $1100 for a 2-year license. still trying to gauge if the demand for UC products here is good.

maybe you guys can do me a favour. if you know of friends who collect UC products like the replica swords, staff or helm, ask them if they would be interested if they can get it $30-50 cheaper or maybe even more than the retail price.

just want to add I can get the UC Sword of Strider Scabbard for SG$300. wink.gif

I did some research and there seems to be a stumbling block. if I were to import and deal with swords, I would have to apply for a license. the application would probably take a few weeks to process but I would also have to pay $1100 for a 2-year license. still trying to gauge if the demand for UC products here is good.

maybe you guys can do me a favour. if you know of friends who collect UC products like the replica swords, staff or helm, ask them if they would be interested if they can get it $30-50 cheaper or maybe even more than the retail price.

just want to add I can get the UC Sword of Strider Scabbard for SG$300. wink.gif

u mean cannot get seperate...??! aiyooo..i already got my anduril leh!~ help me find out if u can do that favour for me can??

nah, it wouldn't take more than 5-6 months. at the very most 2 months. if it takes 5-6 months to be delivered to you, I'll refund you the cost of the item and give it to you free-of-charge. that's how confident I am that it won't take that long.  wink.gif

sorry bleahhh but the scabbard comes as a set with UL Anduril.

received your PM Wander_fool and sent you a reply.

ok. I'll ask the dealer and see if can get the scabbard individually.

syuki, shipping from singapore to m'sia would be reasonable I guess. I wonder if customs will hold the sword since its considered a weapon.
syuki
oh yea...forgot about customs.in that case maybe will just consider the staff.

Caesars showed they have a hadhafang minature for sale soon. Wonder whether they really doing it.

yeh, my first time hearing news about the mini hadhafang was from caesars and since then i havnt got anywhere that confirmed uc had made that piece at all. so i really wonder if caesars are giving the correct details. i expect uc to make hadhafang real soon as nc had them for some time already... but it seems i was wrong now that it had been announced stider's ranger will be next in line...

i'm still hoping the mini hadhafang to me made soon...i'm so waiting for it. perhaps they havnt decide how to display it yet?

btw ea, pmed you. i want to get the anduril scabbard alone.

i asked nelson from caesars and he said the ranger mini has been annouced though not known when will come in. as for the hadhafang mini, no confirmation is being made yet, so i wonder why on their site they state otherwise. also no news about the anduril scabbard date n pricing. well, i dont think i'll be getting it from them, only the minis.

ea, does the source you are buying the uc swords from sell the minis too? if so, i would want if it's much cheaper.

here's some pics of how i display my shards... plan to do the same with my anduril but waiting for the scabbard so i can measure it with the sword before making a case.

i like the frame on the case, gives that antique look. compliment the shards which is supposed to be broken long ago. would welcome comments on my case...
