One of the sculptors at WETA said that a new statue will be unveiled. He also reminded everyone not to say a word about it.

Cannot start a business on it lah...I'm only amateur!
Anyway, I did some touch ups to the eyes and 'eyelids', eyebags, etc...dunno whether can turn up properly on photo or not:
Elessar
Eyes were given a slight 'semitone' darker with some gloss smoke grey, diluted. Eyelids and eyebags have to use mahogany and very, very dilute with super micro brushes (4 zeros and finer). Really not sure whether the difference is noticeable or not, but from my view, there is slight improvement, but little I can do further because it is the sculpt, not just the paintjob.

Cannot earn as side job lah...take too long, make too little. Besides, I'm too amatuerish to attempt to 'destroy' other fellas statues!

And about the new secret SSW statue, most likely it's gonna be Pippin or a mumakil, if you ask me. But frankly, how secretive can it get when you already know that there's gonna a new statue?

They didnt announce it. Someone from Sideshow told us in the chat earlier today.
Anyway he said its not a beast....so no Mumakil.

On my Elessar piece, the shape of the eyes are slightly different, but not bigger or smaller...I think the lighting is screwing with the look of the eyes unfortunately. I already kept it back in the box as it looks good enough in person...luckily...
If the secret SSW is the King of the Dead, that would be really cool, but my guess is also the Pippin figure.

What can I say about the Minas Tirith keepsake box from SSW? It's a real beauty crafted by SSW sculptor Mary MacLachlan and Phillip Fickling. The details on the piece is stunning indeed! Also got PJ's signature at the base.
Damn, I should be collecting environments! Can't wait for the Minas Morgul!

read the inlet,that you can get the slipcase for the EE trilogy by mailing in your particulars at www.lotrdvdbox.com,but the site not open till 14 Dec.

The tiny piece of insert found in the ROTK EE DVD has pics of the slipcase. It is meant for putting the 3 EE sets, so it's the same one that comes with the Trilogy EE set which is available now.

btw, sadly when i wanted to display my elessar, i looked at the base n noticed there's a crack... alamak, nev noticed when i was checking at st. kept looking at the main body part only.
actually if cant change i'm fine, good if can but not a must. it doesnt affect in any major way. you cant see it when displayed anyway. now let's see what can ann do...

cool man, if it's the King Of the Dead.... It will be as cool as Witchking of Angmar.
I really hope SSW will produce the following statues in the very near future (maybe next year):- King Of The Dead
- Mumakil
- Maybe a Baby Cave Troll (Same scale as Fell Beast and Baby Balrog)
- Riders Of Rohan on horses (Just like Gandalf on Shadowfax)

I don't think the compartment is meant for DVDs Noel. It's too small. Actually I am still wondering why SSW wanted to include the compartment. Just make it a one-piece thingy lah.

If I'm not wrong, the single spare piece that ST has has a 'nose-job' problem. Maybe post a pic of the problem? I may be able to advise on how to fix it.

man o' man. very nice of SSW to offer the crown for free when you order MM. actually, you can't say its free since we have to pay US$15 shipping for the crown. won't ship at the same time too. MM shipping in mid-Jan '05 while the crown shipping in Spring '05.

We log in on the 14th early evening, because we are one day ahead of US time. Am I right, fellas?
there is a counter at the MM page on ss's site. you can see how much left before ordering is open.

erm, ok, i will try to get a pic of it, though i doubt it will help. i'll try to explain it. it's like on the bottom side of the statue, one piece is about the be broken off. only that it's still attached to the statue.
so at the base you can see the crack more clearly than on the cape. how to fix? can patch the crack line ah?

Broken piece can use super glue. Crack can mend using putty to cover the crack, then need to paint. Paint and putty can be bought at Hobby shops, those selling paint for hobby kits. There is one in Far East itself, first main entrance then walk to the left, facing the road.
