More Series 6 Info...A Little Something!
Todd at TheOuterReaches.com has spoken with his Canadian distributor and the distributor has not heard anything about series 6 release dates as of yet. The distributor knows about series 6, but has heard nothing from Toybiz concerning figures or release dates. Not sure, but this may apply only to Canada...since Dragonspy Dean reported UK getting these in June/July.

On another note, Todd also informed us that they have finally got in their first SOLID case of TTT Series 1 LEGOLAS figures. They are expecting the solid cases of PEW as planned (had to order nearly 400 cases of PEWs in order for Toybiz to agree to do it). They are also contemplating solid cases of Galadriel. Go to TheOuterReaches.com they have a cool store and very reasonable prices.

Gosh! They had to order 400 cases of PEW before Toybiz agree to send full cases of it?! Solid cases of Series 1 Legolas would sell but solid cases of Galadriel? Does that seem logical? I know I would like to have a fig of Galadriel but to have a solid case of it sounds alittle too over the top. Maybe they should have solid cases of Elven Archer and Berserker Uruk-Hai 2 pack. I know alot of collectors in Singapore are looking for this and I think its the same for countries like USA and Canada too.

Hmmm....maybe I could email The Outer Reaches and suggest it to them. What do you guys think? smile.gif

Hello everbody,

I am new here. Just registered a couple of minutes earlier. I have been following all the lotr news and and it is great 'cos I just started collecting 6" lotr figures since Feb 2003.
I am also trying to get TTT legolas and elven archer but after reading all the news on this site, I think I would be very lucky if I ever get them.
Do you think that they will restock any of the TTT series here in S'pore for late comers?
I was at Simplytoys at Far East and they were selling legolas at $40!! It's terrible!

Welcome mcbleea! Always nice to see a new forum member. smile.gif
Well, there is a small possibility that they might restock the earlier series of figs but don't hold your breath. I ordered an extra Series 1 Legolas but Ryu has already reserved it. Anyways, you might try your luck at CQ. Heard from some members that S*******a was selling a few pcs of Legolas last Sunday Don't bother buying from places like SimplyToys. I'm quite sure they're selling their LOTR figs at scalper prices. smile.gif

Hi Mcblea!

anywae, one solution if you really want legolas would be to get the 5 for $60 set from S* then perhaps sell off the rest... then again Series 4 Legolas is just around the corner too so might pay off to wait a while and try your luck at retail... smile.gif

I just dropped by Simply Toys last sat on my toyhunt... PEW going for $69.90... atrocious man! blink.gif
Elven Archer
yup. was there today too. Legolas in Rohan Armour was going for $29.90 if I'm right. cut-throat prices.
Elven Archer
It seems the unknown fig from Series 4 will be a repack of Helm's Deep Gimli which is similiar to the 2-pack Gimli from FOTR.
Ryu
Series 4 Legolas doesnt look as nice as those previous legolas toy. their faces look so different. I still would go for the series 3 legolas
Elven Archer
Think you mean Series 1 Legolas which is in Rohan Armour. Series 3 had figures like the Prologue Elven Warrior, Galadriel, Frodo, etc. smile.gif
mcbleea
Where is Spawn-Asia located in CQ exactly? Have never been there before.
What are the other 4 figures that they are selling with legolas together as a $60 5-pack?

Mcbleea
PS. Thanks for the welcome. Glad to join in the lotr collectors' group.
toyseller07

yup. it's a pretty big shop that has many McFarlane Toys on display. Think the 5 figs in Series 1 are Legolas in Rohan Armour, Faramir, Gandalf the White, Gondorian Ranger and Easterling. smile.gif

Elven Archer
think so Ryu. set of 5 figs for S$60.
mcbleea
S$60 for 5 figures seems reasonable. Besides, legolas, what are the other 4 figures?
And is it true that April 11 is confirmed the Series 6 day?

April 11 is supposed to be the date Series 4 will be released in USA. Rumours have it that it will be released sooner in Singapore. smile.gif

Toy Biz: The OFFICIAL Word on LOTR TT Wave 6
Posted by adrian on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 - 11:10 PM GMT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With rumors flying back and forth about a 6th Wave of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers toys, we went to ToyBiz to get official word...

Rumors have been flying around the net for the past week about a 6th wave of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers figures, and we've been waiting on an official response from ToyBiz on this... cos we were confused.

Not only did we get an answer but also a possible origin for these rumors.

Now our confusion originates from the fact that ToyBiz's official press release from ToyFair mentions NOTHING about a 6th wave, yet goes and listed Return of the King figures for the end of the year.

However, when we hunted around the Electronic Press Catalogue, we did find reference to a 6th Wave. It listed 4 figures: Eowyn, Prologue Bilbo, 8" Treebeard and Eowyn. However, this collided with info we had from the press release that said that these figures would be part of Return of the King assortments. Given that a word document takes less time to prepare than a PDF catalogue, our instincts told us to go with the press release info over the catalogue.... BUT this might have been the origin of where the rumor started.

Now we checked with ToyBiz, and they got back to us tonight to reveal that although a 6th Wave was part of their original plans, it WAS dropped to allow them to concentrate on their Return of the King products.

ToyBiz told us: "WE HAD INITIALLY PLANNNED ON RELEASING 6 TWO TOWERS 6" ACTION FIGURE ASSORTMENTS, BUT WILL ONLY MOVE FORWARD WITH 5 SO THAT WE CAN FOCUS OUR EFFORTS ON UPCOMING RETURN OF THE KING PRODUCTS"

Now to be fair, I think this decision was made some time ago, and if you look at ToyBiz's summer releases... they've got both Hulk and X-Men product coming out. When I first heard of their Hulk and X-Men plans, I emailed Jesse to tell him.. "Man, you are going to be very busy".

Whilst ToyBiz have not said as such, it's the most likely reason a lot of items such as Marvel Legends 4 are not out until August, and makes good business sense... you don't want your products competing with each other, and with both X-Men and Hulk Toys this summer, the aisles are going to be dominated with Marvel and ToyBiz products. In fact the big worry I have is that Hulk and X-Men will battle each other in the toy aisles, and I only hope the net result is better than expected sales for ToyBiz (For the record, my money's on X-Men, which goes against the vast majority of the industry who think that Hulk will do better at retail)

Before anyone knew about a possible Wave 6, the figures concerned had already been moved to the ROTK assortments, so you're not missing out on any figures here, and ToyBiz do seem to be making up for it with a bumper load of ROTK releases (although I expect it's possible that these assortments will be fine tuned as the Fall approaches, so bear that in mind).

So you have a while to wait for your Eowyn figure, but I can assure you they do want to get her out. I was standing next to Jesse Falcon from ToyBiz at San Diego Comic Con when he enthusiastically told a fan about how great her role was in The Two Towers, and how they really want to get the figure of her out.

So I'm sorry to be the one to break the news that Wave 6 ISN'T happening, but I hope I've explained the details behind it, and given you some insight as to why this likely happened.

Elven Archer
okies. At least we still will be getting the figures. Whether its under TTT or ROTK makes no difference to me. smile.gif
Ryu
yeah. I agree with u archer. as long as they give us gd figs
mcbleea
Yes,....fig that resembles the actors in their character roles.

Mcbleea
Elven Archer
just hate the wait that's all coz probably from April to Aug, there wouldn't be any new LOTR action figs.
