I Lurve RPG games!!!
But only games that have medieval or Fantasy settings.
Like Bulders gate, or Fallout ( yes I know technically it ain't medieval, but I'm kinda into post necular appocalyptic settings too)
I was playing arcanum for a while.
I hate games where you invest so much of your time and play over 20 hrs and your character doesn't "grow" with you.
Know what I mean?
Anybody here play Playstation2 games?
Can recomend some good RPG games?
I am currently playing BG:Dark Alliances for the third time.
Very nice game.
True RPG.
also anybody here can tell me if "Mafia" or Max Payne 2 is any good?

Oh yes, definitely RPG hardcore fan here. Played most of them-from Wizardry, Ultima, Magic Candle, Might n Magic, EOB, to currently playing Neverwinter Nights. One of the best i played recently was Baldur's Gate series. Doesn't have to be any particular setting. Just finished playing Prince of Qin.
But only on the PC, not other gaming platforms.
But there are other games worth playing too. Like X-COM, Jagged Alliance.

Hmmm.... there seems to be more computer RPGers around here then true pen and paper RPGers.
Anyway, I was away from Singapore for more 10 years now. My parent send me over to the states to study when I had finished my secondary studies here. After I came back, I wen to that store at midpoint orchard and was shocked to see that the old Leisure Craft is no longer there! Replaced by a shop called Paradigm Infinitum!? The aunties are no longer there! replaced by this fat guy....
I am very into those pen and paper rpg stuff. When I was in the states, we got RPG guilds which holds regular gamming sessions every weekends. Being trying to find similar guilds in Singapore but seems like there non that play on a regular basis.

i believe Comics Mart in Serene Centre has quite a lot of active gamers. they even converted the shop space opposite theirs into a space for gamers to campaign.

Some off topic stuff. Is sgcollect.com related to katoots.com? I just visited them and found that both sites are quite similar although their tabletop pen and paper RPG section seems to be more active here.

Mostly PC games stuff. Pen n paper only dabbled in it. Most of my friends just not interested in that, really difficult to get a few of them together just to play-for that matter most of my friends think i'm loony too, playing pc games! Pen n paper very big in the US.
Used to fequent Comic Arts Gallery, now defunct!

haha long story.....

You can try another shop at the Orchard area where the old OG (which is going to shift) to .. cannot remember what's the name, but the shops name is Paradigm Infinitum-- the address is in the shop directory. They have alot of table games from LOTR, Mechwarrior, X-men, Dungeon and Dragon etc.. Met the owner nice chap and they do have competitions on and off also.
Welcome here

Yup. I had been to that shop, Paradigm Infinitum. Thats where Leisure Craft used to be. Mostly guys and school kids there. They don't seems to be friendly. Maybe its the way how they look at me. Like never see a lady before.

Wow! Thought pen-and-paper RPG gamers were extinct already but certainly a dying breed....way I look at it, the closest pen and paper RPG games here must be like War Hammer....as for AD&D, not something easy to pick up. Even D&D is getting pretty difficult.
That's why you got the widespread population CCGs.....kinda of an idiot proof game. Anyway like some of the forumers here, the last time I used a character sheet was in Sec Sch. But there's one game in particular that I've been itching to find out more about. Vampire the Masquerade.....

You'll be surprised. The gaming community in Singapore is indeed small, but by no means non-exsistant. I have a lady in my role-playing group and she's probably one of the best I've ever gamed with.
Anyway I'm with V:tm. Don't like the clunky combat rules that D20 gives. I'm more for drama than combat.
Go ask the guy if u could post a msg on his board, asking for players to join or groups which you could participate in, and which game. You should get a reply pretty fast.

So.....there is a gaming cluster for Vampire here...Great! err....do you run around in fort canning warheart?

Mar 25 2004, 06:49 AM
Nah I don't. That place is for LARPers. You know, Live action role playing. Something like cosplay but instead of rules you use the simple sissors paper stone method to decide any conflicts/combat. Makes room for roleplaying.
For me I still prefer the confines of a table and a room. Haha.

Try Neverwinter Nights or Temple of Elemental Evil. Should be good choices. Just know that combat in both games are more or less turn based. Think you would know what i mean if u have played Baldur's Gate.

neverwinter nights easier to remember. thanks

never played baldurs gate. i prefer a more story base, talking type. too much fighting is boring.

I've dabbled in table top D&D too!
But as the players diminish in numbers, the chances to play also decrease.
Well, I guess it's not too late to start again now huh!
