Will the hooks damage the wall when you need to remove them?
I keep all of my MOSC in carton boxes. No place to display....except the wall.

Jun 9 2004, 10:08 AM
i think they are selling a kind of hooks which doesn't need to nail in... juz stick it on the wall....something like bluetag but stronger and when u need to remove, then pull the bluetag off from behind and remove.
It does not cause damage to the walls.... i think it should be cheaper then getting wooden shelves. save more space also.

But after a long time, those stickers when gooey will leave a stain on the wall issit (when removed). Then havta paint the whole wall again.

Hmm.. I think also depends on your wall paint type. Wonder if those more expensive silky smooth walls will be able to resist those stains better ? I mean, being so smooth, maybe we can just wipe off the stain with a damp piece of rugged cloth! But don't know lah, coz my house only got the normal white paint which has a rather dry and coarse texture to it.

i have checked ..the price of the 3M hooks is about 5 pcs for 5 or 6 bucks....abit xpensive. Since the feedback using the said hooks are good...so is worth buying la. Unless u get those nailed to the wall...the price is cheap.
as for me...it xpensive la for the hooks.
Can anybody tell me ....which hooks is the good to hang those star wars figures??????
ixzac
Jun 11 2004, 09:47 AM
Actually those 3M hooks U see in a pack of 6 are MINI HOOKS, they can be only use for those lighter LOTR TRI figs like Travlling Bilbo, Gimli and etc. MINI HOOK can only take weight of ard 250g
If U wish to hang retro packs or heavier TRI figs like Lord Morgul, Elrond and etc, U have to get those 2 in a pack MEDIUM HOOK which will cost $5. MEDIUM HOOK can take abt 1kg
For Star Wars figs, U can use the MINI HOOKS. No prob abt that.
Just my 2 cents worth
Cheers

Woahahahahah....PEW bow/arrows......
Elven Archer
Jul 25 2004, 08:21 AM
yeah they look like PEW bows. good attempt but might I make a suggestion. paint over the Elvish design on the bow.
actually, if you want to be very accurate, the bows have to be smaller. according to the W&W book I read, the Elves had the biggest bows whereas the Numenoreans' bows, though big were slightly smaller.

sorry was in ubin the past 2 days.
yah, bow n arrows from pews. cut off a little bit of the back of the helmet to fit in the head cos the hair of legolas too thick. too lazy to buy paint for the bow thou. nevertheless, i think im quite satisfied wif the outcome.
thank u everyone for the suggestions
btw, ea. wats the color for gondorian bows??? - silver? brown?
thx sky. will go paint it but got to find some paint 1st.

the bows of the Gondorian Longbowmen are stained dark brown. they are about 68 inches in height. the arrows were black in colour and have an average length of about 28 inches.
the Gondorian Ranger or Ranger of Ithilien had a bow that was about 80 inches in height and of similiar colour to the Gondorian Longbowmen bow. the arrows are 28 inches in length also.
Numenoreans carried a dark wooden bow that was anywhere between 72-84 inches in height and arrows which had an average length of 48 inches. it was rumoured that the bows may have been made of hollow steel also.
Prologue Elven Warriors or Elves of the Second Age had bows and arrows the same length as the Numenoreans.

Juz saw the pics of your customs dizzy. Great job mate. But EA makes an extremely relevant point. Trust the man. He is our leige.
Anyway, I saw ur Elrond and PEWs too. Always knew they would look good together. Alas, i only have one PEW.

You gave him a shield, which is cool. But according to the W&W of Middle Earth book, Elrond was too "zai" already in that war. Hadhafang was all he needed. He did not carry neither a shield nor bow and arrows. That gives him a more STEADYZ look IMO.
Just thought you'd know.
Cheers!!

i haven't frame up my certs that come with purchases of UC's products. i've seen people buying small frames to frame the cert. like those kind you see done to diploma/degree certs etc...
i'm still looking around for the best and nicest way to do so. since i had a case made for my shards, i did thought of putting it inside. but then there's no space and making a bigger case just to cater the cert isnt worth it.
i looked around and i found a rather nice piece i feel. i saw it a bugis' seiyu's muji. it's something like 2 pieces of acrylic and you can put your cert btw them. they are secured with metal screws at the 4 corners. i think it looks kinda cool. there are a few sizes available. considering getting it for my anduril and shards certs.
anyone saw what i am talking about? forgot to take pics of it. and the prices too. not sure if you custom made these will cost cheaper from justaname's contact that made his movie poster frames.
people here can also discuss about the ways you display your lotr stuff. not restricted about UC certs only. i will post pics here soon by the weekend or so on the display cabinet i got today as mentioned in the thread on display stands.

i was thinking, maybe juz framed it up and place it on the wall for display beside the swords... but the prob is, it might look too messy with all the posters around it.
