Was passing by the Games Workshop in PS a few weeks back, went in and saw their setups... the Helm's Deep table is very nice... would be fun to try to play though...

I think the alternative would be the 3" figs from PlayAlong Toys. they have a wide range of characters and some dioramas too like Helm's Deep, Khazad-Dum and Saruman's chamber if I'm right. only down point is that they're not articulated. 
hmmm, I think the AOME line will have ltd articulation... this is what Dboe, one of the ppl involved with the line, said on the ME forums :

hmm....if the 3" PlayAlong figs have articulation, then it might be worth getting them. if I remember correctly, the Gollum fig is only 2" in height which fits perfectly with the other figs.
well, from the pics shown in Toyfair they look quite nice... especially the Uruk and Moria Goblin sets... still, gotta look at the actual stuff before committing...
the Gandalf and Shadowfax is in a nice pose though...

not yet. I hope I'll get it next week or maybe the week after that. when I do, I'll walk around the streets and cleave me some orcs.

when you do get your Hadhafang, make sure you check it carefully. Caesar's called me about a week ago to collect my piece and they only had one available for me to look at, apart from the display piece. Both had something a bit 'off' or defective. I'd recommend checking the 'gold leaf' spirals on the hilt - the one I was supposed to get had a bit peeled off. Also, the Elven runes on the blade are filled in with gold paint or inking, and in some places, the color runs outside of the runes themselves and looks rather messy. I wasn't too pleased with both pieces so I said I'd wait for the next shipment. Was disappointed, but if I'm paying over $400 for it, I want to be satisfied with the product. Thankfully the guy at Caesar's agreed too and didn't insist I choose one of those two pieces. I hope they remember to call me when the new batch does come in!

ya... go ask one of the guys that everytime paint, see how much they will change you for painting those little guys
i think the shop closed down already.... went to plaza singapura the other day. No sign of the shop anymore.
