Hmm, interesting thread. Good to see some fullsize action over here. Astaldomarion, you are one ambitious guy! Having made the armour in 6" scale, i can only imagine what's in store for you!! Anyways, I don't think the tree design should be too difficult to do at full scale. I would imagine cutting the design out from some 2~3mm thick foam which you could probably find in Popular. Lemme know if there's any way i can help. I for one would love to see this made!

Never done any fullsize. No time man. As it is, i wish i had more time to do my 6" customs. Currently making Citadel Guard and Prologue Numenorean with scratchbuilt armour/costume.
I do however have some suggestions regarding techniques. I'm guessing from the shape that you and your bro use a balloon as the armature for the helmets. IMHO it's a bit too round. Perhaps if you could get your hands on a head from a mannequin you might get a better fit. Mebbe some department stores got some old mannequins they wanna throw? The body will surely be useful too.

I don't doubt it! Being able to deflate it to release is a big plus point. Maybe, you should just orient the balloon differently. Take a look at toybiz's berserker UH and observe the shape of the helm. Note especially the 'orentation of the ovalness' if you know what i mean. Anyways, what you've done looks very very good already - i'm just being a nitpicker

. But hey, that's what this thread is for, isn't it?
Show us some pics with you wearing the helm!

I bought the clay from Popular Bookstore... Its the normal clay where 1kg may cost 3.00 bucks.
If it crack either sand paper till its smooth or add another layer in between...

where are the leaves? are you gonna add those? Oh yah.. i see six leaves on top but got some more to add. I have to say that the bottom lame is not flared out enough. Other than that, nice work. I'm surprised that the whole thing is made of clay. I would have made it of something else but you pulled it off very well. Remember to add the rivets though..

The plate at the bottom just below the waist should flare out more to accommodate hips and not restrict movement. Yours looks too tapered. comprendez vous?

Hmmm... what' wrong with your paper maché method? I think it works fine and you managed to make some cool armour with it. Jedielfqueen oso uses it in combination with "Gapoxio clay" for her galadhrim warrior. Check out
http://www.jedielfqueen.com/elvenwarriors/elvenwarriors.htm They also have a tutorial for making PEW armour. In fact, i think pure clay would be too brittle and a bit on the heavy side so i think u probably could make your PEW and Jango armour with paper maché. If you can get plastic sheets all the better.

Correct. that plate is not at the waist but rather at the hip so it needs to flare out more. We are not women but our hips are still bigger than our waists!!

Well plaster of paris is definitely out pf the question. It's waaaay too brittle to flex the way you would need it to. If you have a blender you might want to try breaking down paper into a pulp. Use boiling water. Mix with white glue (white glue is slightly flexible) and you could (emphasis on "could") have something you could work with. I've only tried this when i was a kid but on nothing anywhere near the scale of what you are attempting. Didn't use a blender but hand mashed it with a fork in a pot over a hot stove. Of course my quantity was A LOT lot lot less than what you would need but you get the idea... No guarantees and especially none on your blender though!

Of course this is just a suggestion if you want something scupltable. I would still rather go for plastic sheets.

Paint the whole thing with acryllic black paint first. Then drybrush with silver acryllic paint. It will look realistic and not too shiney. The nooks and crannies will be a bit darker giving it extra depth. I don't know whether they sell acryllic paint in that size but you can check from any art store.
