Red packaging was released ages ago after the Two Towers film is i'm not mistaken. Blue packaging is spossed to be the same repack with just a more updated packaging. As for which is rarer, here in Malaysia I have yet to see the Sauron in blue packaging (Dunno bout the guys there in Sg though). If you're planning to open the figure, either one will do as they are exactly the same

yup. Plague is right. the blue ROTK packaging is just a repack of the same figure. in Singapore, S* usually doesn't carry repacked figures.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WD1VHere's another alternative.
This Sauron first appeared in the FOTR movie. I feel if you really wanted a box color to match his movie appearance, it'd be green. But they only have it in red and blue........so i dun think it matters actually. The figure is nice. If you see it at a nice price, just buy it.

I am damn confused abt LOTR figures packaging too. I first saw Gollum in a red (quite a large box). Then came a blue one. Then there is this blue one which is only a paper card with a bubble. What is the difference man?
Also, I see that there is this Gollum/Smeagol which is rubber and bendy. But I think I also saw jointed Gollum/Smeagol before. Are there like different kinds?
I am pretty lost...

There are more than 1 kind of packaging and toy for gollum... As i think he is more 'popular' in a sense...

Yeah I guess... But I never seem to see the articulated version of him. Always see the bendy version. Anyone see the articulated jointed ones before?

Thanks dude! If I recall properly, this is the boxset version of Smeagol with the ring in the hand. Any single carded version with such articulation. Gollum or Smeagol?
