I don't play the game but I'm interested in collecting them but they are difficult to find. I'm looking for pieces like the "large Red Dragon" but I can't seem to find it.

Wizards of the Coast (D&D) has a new fantasy minitures game coming up called Dreamblade. Figures are slightly bigger than the D&D ones. random booster packs too.

I dont think many people collect these beautifully D&D miniatures. Right now, they are really hot stuffs in US. A search on ebay and you would see how much they are worth. I would introduce this great collection, and hopefully they can spark off some interests in you guys.

Right now, there are altogether 9 sets of D&D miniatures. The 10th set would be coming out in July, which is War of the Dragon Queen. Each set have about 60 figures, which are common, uncommon and rare. These collections are like "tikam", thus they are collectibles. Currently there are only a few places in Singapore which sells them, and the most current set selling now would be War Drums. One booster cost about 22 and there are 8 miniatures in it. ( 1 rare, 7 commons and uncommons)

Enough said for now, you guys can check out the gallery of wizards of the coast of every single miniatures.

D&D miniatures

hope this info helps =)

**anyway anyone knows how to post pics so that i can show my collection**

hi,
i dont play them. however, i have always been a fan of D&D characters and creatures.. esp Drizzt.. ha
so i decide to collect this series as i find the painting and sculpting really well-done. anyway, i only started
about 2months ago and i bought most of my miniatures from US ebay. although its costly, i really enjoy displaying them.

anyway thanks for the info, but i think it would be more worth it to get complete set for dragon queen from US.

thanks, (glad to have someone who shares the same hobby.. ) =)

I was at Comics Mart the other day and this kid was buying a box of D&D miniatures. He took two boxes and was trying to compare the weights of the two boxes. Haha, I guess there is some desirable minature that is slightly heavier than the rest? I remember people used to do the same to basketball card packs to find those with the unique cut-out shapes, which were the inserts.

I don't really collect but play very often with a friend whom I introduced the game to. We play for fun and just buy some boosters once in a while. We concentrate more on getting fun characters to play.

offtopic.gif I have recently started playing the Pirates miniatures game. Here's how some of them look like and this is how to play. The fun thing about this miniatures game is that you really need so little to start playing. You can even play from just one booster pack (Yes, one. Try doing that with Magic: the Gathering!). Buy a starter set and a few boosters and it can keep you happy for a while. Gameplay is very simple too.

the price for drizzt now is really astronomical...
anyway... we have a group playing at PI on wednesdays nights... feel free to drop by anytime... for playing or trades...

Last year at Gen Con Wizards of the Coast gave out three different D&D Miniatures Promos. Do you have them?

Hi I noticed that the thread stopped and literally died off. Recently, been looking around for D&D minatures, was wondering if anyone else still buying/collecting/playing? The other day when I went to PI, I was disappointed to see only people playing Warhammer. Is the D&D culture dying because of online gaming?

Am aiming for the upcoming collectible - 20th annivesery of Legend of Drizzt from Forgotten Realms.
Hey, I really want to contact someone who is still into D&D, so send me a msg, if you read this. huh.gif

Hi,

Just noticed this thread. I dont play these minituare games (although i did try to plough thru Mage knight rule book and still didnt understand how its played), but am an avid appreciator of these miniature works of art.

Not sure if its against forum rules, but may i ask where in singapore are good places to buy these miniatures? ones like Mage Knight, D&D, Horrorclix, Navia Dratp.

I've only ever been to serene centre Comics mart, they have a very limited selection. which leaves my other only known source to be ebay.

also, has anyone ever tried painting the unpainted miniatures with markers instead of paint?
keldorn
I am interested in Navia Drapt also but unfortunately only got one of the starter set, dont know where to find the rest and booster packs.
B0N0V0X
I've got a handful of Talisman miniatures, still unpainted, if anyone is keen on them.

Borders normally carries a limited number of D&D minatures you might want to check there, normally they should be either at the Sci-fi/fantasy section or displayed behind the payment counter. You might want to check out the official pages of the company that produces the minatures as they often list where the products are sold globally. Otherwise check out speciality games stores, there's one on orchard road in I think mid-point orchard (sorry forgot the name and exact location as not local to Singapore but I always head there so often when in SG that I can just go there by instinct but can't give directions to it if asked wallbash.gif )
keldorn
That shop is PI at midpoint orchard.
zhangzewen
Try comics mart located at serene centre. Its along bukit timah road. Very cosy environment there and friendly staffs.
Rutgerus
PI stands for Paradigm Infinitum btw
smile.gif
Dzirhan
Yes, PI is the shop I was talking about though I go there to get 40K books. Comics Mart is actually listed as the official distributor for Wizkids games (mageknight, heroclixs etc) in Singapore, here's the link that lists the distributor for Wizkids in this part of the world

http://www.wizkidsgames.com/wk_article.asp...e=international

Sadly Wizards of the Coast do not list any Asian retailers for their products. Don't know if it's the same for Singapore but in Malaysia some TRUs also carries D&D Minatures so you might want to check there
Song Ying
It seems like the fantasy community is a bit fragmented and when it comes to new collectors like us, we are pretty clueless about where to get the miniatures in Singapore except being refered to online sites... Anyone got a clue in finding out how we can buy things together?
zhangzewen
Hi Songying, I dont think the fantasy community is fragmented. It's just that this site deals mostly with Toys and Figures, and not really into fantasy collectibles, i think. From what i know, most people who play and collect fantasy stuff seldom go on forums. They meet up in the above mentioned places to trade, play and discuss.

I would strongly recommed Serene Centre located at Bukit Timah. The staffs there are really friendly and you could buy miniatures there. You could also meet other collectors there too.
azzurri
Yes, agree with Zhangzewen. The easiest way to meet up with fellow gamers is at places where they play. Either that, or get friends into your hobby. I feel real old saying this but back in my late primary / secondary days when I was actively into D&D and Magic: the Gathering and the internet was not what it is today, congregation was the easiest way to meet friends, learn product developments, do mass orders etc. They are out there; it's just a matter of finding them.

I also recommend using the notice boards at Comics Mart branches and PI. Another very easy way to meet people.

May I know where do you bought your minis with? Went to PI at midpoint but was disappointed only selling war hammer 40k. Thanks.

Cheers
